Christian clerics based in Bauchi have called on affluent members of both Muslim and Christian communities to extend support to the less privileged families as farmers conclude this year’s harvest season.

Speaking separately to our correspondent, Reverend Yakubu Waziri Ribina of ECWA One, Bayara and Engineer Bukata Yakubu Kizaki of COCIN Church, Yelwan Makaranta, said the period provides an essential opportunity for Nigerians to show compassion and improve the welfare of vulnerable households.

Reverend Ribina noted that with farmers returning home with foodstuffs after months in the field, wealthier citizens should consider reaching out to the needy to ease their hardship.

He stressed that such gestures would not only uplift struggling families but also strengthen unity among worshippers.

Engineer Kizaki echoed the call, urging well-to-do individuals across faiths to demonstrate empathy and share the blessings of the season with those who lack necessities.

Both clerics also appealed to parents, guardians, and community leaders to intensify monitoring of children and youths, warning that the lack of proper guidance contributes to rising social problems.
