The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP.Adekimi Ojo, on Wednesday visited the Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku in Ekiti local government area that was attacked by bandits on Tuesday.

A statement signed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said CP Ojo was in Eruku for an on-the-spot assessment following the attack on the community.
‎
She said the Commissioner of Police was received on arrival by the Divisional Police Officer, Eruku, and other tactical commanders to review the situation and coordinate an immediate security response.
‎
The traditional ruler of the town, the Owa of Eruku land, Oba Busari Olarenwaju, received the CP and his entourage and the state director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Micheal Oganwu, alongside other senior officers in his palace.

“The royal father welcomed and appreciated the visit while also expressing regret for the dastardly attack in the community. He requested that more personnel be deployed to protect the lives and properties of his people,” it added.
‎
The statement added that Ojo also engaged community leaders, local vigilante operatives, and residents to gather first-hand information and to reassure them of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
‎
“The Security bosses made their way to the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun in Eruku. The resident pastor, Mr Bamidele gave a brief narrative of the sad incident, leading a tour around the church premises,” she said.
‎
The Kwara police spokesperson added that the CP is “leading a strategic evaluation of the incident, ensuring adequate deployment of personnel and resources to rescue the victims, arrest perpetrators, restore confidence, and maintain law and order within the community.”
‎
Ejire-Adeyemi assured that further updates will be communicated as the assessment progresses and additional details emerge.
