The leadership of Team New Nigeria (TNN) said it would be having talks with African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties in Abuja this weekend ahead of their membership registration.

The national secretary of the TNN National Communication Bureau, Professor Morgan Sarki Gambo, who made this statement yesterday in Abuja, also confirmed that the association was engaging in coalition talks with other registered political parties, besides the ADC.

The official said, “Although these talks are ongoing, final agreements, particularly with the ADC, may be reached next month.

Although Gambo confirmed that nothing concrete had yet come out of the talks, he explained that the primary reason for the association seeking to work together was to strengthen social cohesion, nation-building, and democratic participation, and undertake common programmes against tribalism, nepotism, and other forms of intolerance.

He said they will work together in good faith and seek to build consensus on the formation of a government where no party has an outright majority, based on the above shared values and a minimum programme, and in the interest of all Nigerians.

The group said even though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is deliberately frustrating its efforts to register the TNN as a political party, it will go ahead to officially unveil the proposed political party’s manifesto, dubbed “Building a New Nigeria Together” with a comprehensive plan to reset Nigeria’s economy, alleviate economic hardships, end insecurity and promote good governance.

The communications secretary also expressed pleasure over the increase in membership of the TNN, stating that the association has now recorded 43 million members.

He said the TNN has deployed personnel and materials to all 36 states of the federation and Abuja for the launch of its membership registration, which resumes on December 6.
