Okota Lagos agog as St. Michael ties the nuptial nut with Peace

The expansive and ever busy Ogidi Town Hall, Festac Town, Lagos on Saturday, contained over thrice its capacity. The event was the wedding ceremony of Mr. Michael Nwuzor, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Cordinator, Ezzama Development Center, Ezza South LGA, Ebonyi State, Honourable Nworie Henry Nnajiofor JP, and his beautiful wife, Mrs Peace Mmesoma Ogbuatu of Ndiorji Umobo Umuihe, Akaeze, Ivo LGA, Ebonyi State – younger sister to the state Publicity Secretary All Progressive Congress, APC, Ebonyi State, Honourable Simbat Ogbuatu.

In his sermon at the wedding, held at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, Greenfield Estate, Okota Ago, Lagos, the officiating Priest, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Ifeanachor, described the sacrament of Holy Matrimony as a way to salvation. He urged the newly wedded couple to always assist each other. Among other things, the priest emphasized the indivisibilty of marriage which he likened to the Holy Trinity, while reminding them of the need for holiness. “Contaminate each other with holiness” He said.

Speaking on behalf of his new family at the side of the event, the groom, St. Michael, as he is fondly called, described his marriage as union destined by grace – a bond between two hearts that have found peace, purpose and promise in each other. He thanked God for giving him a good wife and prayed that He adds to them, the joy that brightens earthly sorrow and the peace / love that calms all strife. Turning slowly to his ever-smiling wife, he said: “My Peace, my Akwaugo, you are my answered prayer, my calm in every storm, and my greatest blessing. Together, we begin a new chapter-one written with love, laughter, faith, and forever”

The celebrant advised young men looking for life partners to be watchful and prayerful, pointing out that it is only the Almighty God that gives such precious gifts. He confirmed his vow to remain with his wife till death seperates them.

Addressing guests at the event, the General Manager, Aerodrome Standards, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, High Chief Comrade Emmanuel Vintus Chukwu who chaired the occassion, described marriage as one the only institution established by the Almighty God for companionship and procreation.He urged the teaming guests, especially couples to be cheeful so that the already smiling couple would understand that marriage is a beautiful thing. His words: “If you are sitting with your spouse, smile, make the young couple believe that marriage is a beautiful thing” He said, while urging the new couple to always tolorate each other, noting that although no two marriages are thesame, tolerance is one of the major principles of marriage.

Other guests who addressed news men included: Father of the bride Mr. Patrick Ezeoke Ogbuatu, JP, who said he was overwhelmed and highly impressive . The Cordinator Ezzama Development Centre, Ebonyi who’s also the Coordinating Cordinator of Ezza South LGA, Honourable Nworie Henry Nnajiofor, JP, President Ezzama Youth Assembly Lagos Branch, High Chief Titus Uchechukwu Omedeh, Oji Visa Eme ogor, CEO John Ark Limited, High Chief John Ndubisi Izekwe, Udaegbe 1 of Nkomoro, Mrs Ngozi Obasi, President, Development Association of Ebonyi State, DAES women wing, a prominent Lagos based legal practioner, Barrister Lawrence Nweke and his brother, Barrister Ogbuebor, Eze Ndigbo in Aboru, Lagos, His Royal Highness Eze Chris Ndubuisi Anyingor, Hon. They unanimously advised the couple to be tolerant of each other, avoid involving external bodies in resolving their inevitable differences, maintain the already established love, hold God firmly, be focussed and supportive, etc.They also prayed for a successful marriage and wished them long life and prosperity.
