The special adviser on Special Needs to the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Hon. Habeeb Babaoloye, has commended the governor for his inclusiveness and good governance.
“The consensus across the community of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in Kwara State is clear: No government in the history of the state has ever been this good to us,” he said.
Babaoloye said Governor AbdulRazaq has acted as a beacon of hope for the PWD community, successfully rekindling lost hope and giving focused attention to this often marginalised group.
“His leadership proves that his administration is committed to leaving no one behind. This commitment has been demonstrated through three major, unprecedented empowerment schemes:
Grassroots Economic Boost: 197 women with disabilities—one from every single political ward in the state—received ₦100,000 each as crucial start-up capital for small businesses.
“Livelihood and mobility support: 16 persons with disabilities—one in each local government area—were empowered with brand new tricycles, ensuring they gain essential mobility and a sustainable means of income. Direct financial investment: A total of 16 PWDs—one per local government area—received substantial financial support of ₦500,000 each to scale up their enterprises and improve their quality of life.
” These are transformative actions that affirm the dignity and autonomy of PWDs in Kwara State. They are strategic investments in our collective future.
” We, the PWD community, thank our Governor for this inclusive vision. We humbly beseech Almighty God not to cease His bounties, favour, and mercies from Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and to keep guiding him in piloting the affairs of our state,” Babaoloye added.
