Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command attached to the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad have arrested five armed robbery and one-chance criminal suspects.
The suspects were arrested in a series of coordinated operations and investigations conducted between November 22nd and December 1st, 2025.
Spokesman of the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, identified the suspects as Ikechukwu Patrick (male, 19), Odoh David (male, 21), Izuchukwu Ogbodo (male, 37), Charles Ekenechukwu Egwuatu (male, 39), and Justina Dike (female, 37).
He stated that exhibits recovered from them included an imitation gun, four stolen tricycles, a scissor blade, multiple master keys, and several SIM cards.
Ndukwe disclosed that Patrick and Odoh were first arrested on 22nd November 2025 with the assistance of the Neighbourhood Watch Group, adding that an imitation gun and a scissor blade were recovered from them.
He stated that they confessed to belonging to the Supreme Vikings Confraternity and admitted that the recovered items were intended for armed robbery.
“Their confessions led to the arrest of Izuchukwu Ogbodo, from whom six master keys and five MTN SIM cards were recovered.
“Odoh further confessed to stealing tricycles at different locations within Awkunanaw, Enugu, using the master keys and admitted to being part of a one-chance syndicate responsible for dispossessing unsuspecting victims of their valuables.
“His statement facilitated the arrest of Justina Dike and Charles Ekenechukwu Egwuatu. Justina confessed to participating in one-chance operations with Charles and Odoh, admitting to dealing in hard drugs at New Garriki, where she received stolen items, including tricycles, in exchange for drugs.
“These confessions led to the recovery of four BAJAJ RE tricycles, two identified by registration numbers JRV 461 WZ and ENU 018 VG, while the other two had no visible registration marks. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations,” he averred.
Ndukwe further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, commended the operatives for their diligent efforts and directed them to ensure that every individual connected to the syndicate is arrested and more exhibits recovered.
The Enugu State Police Spokesman added that the commissioner reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining security and safety across Enugu State this festive season and beyond, urging residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperative with the Police.
