Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has sworn-in Alhaji Garba Bilal as substantive head of civil service of the state and 17 local government caretake committee chairmen.
Bilal had been in the acting capacity since April 2022.
Buni revealed that their appointment was due to the expiration of the tenure of the last elected local government chairmen.
The governor noted that their appointments were made on the bases of their hard work, loyalty, experience and zeal to deliver more selfless services to the people of the grassroots.
He appealed to the caretaker chairmen of the 17 local government areas to consider their appointment as a trust from government and people of Yobe state.
Buni also tasked the caretaker chairmen to work towards improving the internally generated revenue (IGR) in their areas to ensure that they generate enough resources to provide services in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, education and provision of potable water to the masses.
e assured the new chairmen that the state government would support them to improve the living conditions of the people.
Those sworn-in as local government caretaker committee chairmen include Alh Ibrahim Babagana – Bade, Lawan Bukar – Bursari, Bukar Adamu – Damaturu, Hajiya Halima Kyari Joda – Fika, Baba Goni Mustapha – Fune, Ali Kolo Kachalla – Gaidam, Dala Mala – Gujba, Dayyabu Ilu – Gulani, Abdullahi Ahmed Garba – Jakusko and Lawan Alhaji Gana – Karasuwa.
Others are Bukar Abubukar – Machina, Alh Salisu Yerima – Nangere, Alh Modu Kachalla – Nguru, Alh Salisu Muktari – Potiskum, Mohammed Lamido Musa – Tarmuwa, Dauda Bukar – Yunusari and Alh Waziri Ibrahim – Yusufari.
