Kano State governor, Dr Umar Ganduje, has approved the release of N300 million as tuition fees for Kano State-sponsored students at Near East University, Cyprus.

This was made known by the commissioner for Higher Education, Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.

Dr Bunkure said the payment is in fulfilment of Ganduje’s promise to uplift the socio-economic status of the teeming youth of the state through provision of qualitative and timely education.

The commissioner thanked the governor for making the dream a reality, adding that his magnanimity is second to none.

She congratulated the students and their parents for such an overwhelming support and urged them to make the best use of the acquired knowledge for the betterment of Kano state and Nigeria at large.
