APC Inaugurates Osun Primary Election, Appeal Panels

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has inaugurated the Osun State Governorship Primary Election and Appeal Committees.

The inauguration took place at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Friday.

According to a post on the party’s X (Twitter) handle, the primary election committee is chaired Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State and the appeal panel has Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as chairman.

The primary election has Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa) and former Governor Yahaya Bello (Kogi) as members while Hon. Solomon Maren is secretary.

Members of the appeal committee are Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Wase and deputy governor of Niger state, Comrade Mohammed Kesto with former FCT minister of state, Hon. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, as secretary.

The primary election, which will take place on Saturday, will be conducted through consensus.

LEADERSHIP recalls that APC had disqualified a former national secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and six other aspirants from participating in the forthcoming governorship primary election..

The others screened out were Babatunde Oralusi, Oyedotun Babayemi, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, former Deputy Governor Benedict Alabi, Adegoke Rasheed Okiki and former Senator Babajide Omoworare.

However, two aspirants; Mulikat Jimoh and Munirudeen Oyebamiji, have been cleared to contest the primary election.
