Former Nigerian captain and Chelsea star Mikel Obi has issued a powerful rallying cry to the current Super Eagles squad, urging them to “bring it home” and win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

His message came in response to Head Coach Eric Chelle’s final squad announcement on Thursday, which solidified Nigeria’s campaign roster.

Chelle’s selection shows strong continuity, relying on a core of proven talent. The list includes first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, defensive pillars Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi, midfield stalwarts Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka, and the potent attacking duo of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
Taking to Instagram, Mikel channeled the hopes of a nation with his succinct and direct charge to the players: “Bring it home, lads!”

The Super Eagles, drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, will begin their quest for a fourth AFCON title on December 23rd against Tanzania.
