The 2025 edition of the Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation tournament, the eleventh in its series, is scheduled to take place at Igbobi College in Lagos.
A total of six teams are confirmed to participate in this year’s event, comprising two women’s teams and four men’s teams. The women’s fixtures will see Golden Eko Ballers Women Team compete against Asisat Oshoala Girls Academy. In the men’s category, Golden Eko Ballers U-14 Team, Dosu Football Academy, 36 Lions Football Academy, and Ikorodu City Football Academy will vie for top honours.
Adding to the excitement, a novelty match is planned between the Igbobi College Old Boys Association of the 2000 set and their counterparts from the 2001 set.
This edition receives support from the ICOBA 78/80 set, and its core objective remains unchanged: to develop young talent and help them achieve their potential as future champions.
Mr. Dotun Coker, Head of the Technical arm of the organising team, confirmed that planning for the event has been underway for several months. “We have been working for some time now and are currently putting the finishing touches to our preparations. We have excellent plans to ensure all participants have a rewarding experience in every aspect. Further details of these plans will be unveiled as we approach the main event,” Coker stated.
