The Macallan has partnered with Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) to explore strategies for advancing women’s leadership across sectors as a key driver of national development
The partnership took place at the 24th Annual WIMBIZ Conference, which was held in Lagos. The two-day event brought together over 3,000 women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
WIMBIZ, a non-profit organization with African roots and a global reach, has spent 24 years empowering women in management, business, and public service. Through its programs, WIMBIZ has positively impacted more than 344,335 women and nurtures a network of over 3,357 accomplished women globally.
This year’s conference, themed O.W.N Your Journey, encouraged women to Own their story, Walk in leadership with courage and consistency, and Nurture the next generation through mentorship and advocacy.
The conference featured a lineup of distinguished speakers who shared insights on leadership, economic empowerment, and personal development. These included former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and conference chairperson, Hon. Justice Amina Augie; keynote speaker and chairperson, Royal African Society & Academic, University of Oxford, Arunma Oteh; chairman, Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele; among others who contributed to plenary discussions.
Topics discussed at the conference included The Wealth Playbook: Women, Economic Power & Sustainability, The New Tax Law and You, and Whole Woman, Whole Life: Wellness as a Journey, Not a Destination. These sessions reflected The Macallan’s commitment to supporting conversations that create meaningful societal change. Networking and exhibition opportunities provided attendees with a platform to connect, collaborate, and build lasting partnerships.
