Covenant University has emerged as the best private university at the 2022 Nigeria Prestige Education Awards.
The ivory tower emerged highest out of the 111 private universities in Nigeria in an event aimed at honoring outstanding primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Adebayo who was represented by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor David Imhonopi, appreciated the honour and also the Board of Regents led by the Chancellor, Dr. David O. Oyedepo, for providing an enabling platform that stimulates a great learning context.
“It is safe to say that none of the accolades should go to the University’s Faculty, Staff or Students, but should go to God. This award has gone on to join the plethora of awards the University has amassed over the years via the divine mandate and leading of God,” he said.
Also, the Chairman of CU Students’ Council, Mr. Victor Egbadon, attributed the university’s edge to the innovative minds of the staff and students. Mr. Egbadon made allusions to the school’s town and gown seminars, where the students have the opportunity to liaise with industry experts, thereby tapping into hands-on Knowledge.
The convener of the event, Mr. M.A. Obiola, in his remarks emphasized that such prestigious awards and recognitions could only be issued to the most outstanding schools.
“The event is aimed at celebrating heroes in education and change makers,” he stated.
