A former chairman of Guyuk local government area of Adamawa State and chieftain of the People’s Democratic (PDP), Engr Kube Dwana, has led his supporters from Guyuk and Shelleng local government areas (LGAs) to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dwana disclosed his decision at the APC Secretariat in Guyuk ward of Guyuk LGA.
He told the people that, although it was difficult for him, having contributed to the growth of the PDP in the country, good governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu necessitated his alignment for progress in politics.
The politician who was the chairman of Guyuk council between 2009 and 2010 pledged to give maximum cooperation in line with the vision of the Tinubu administration, especially to his friends and associates appointed into key positions across the country.
According to him, the appointment of former Chief of Defence Staff, now Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa from Southern Kaduna, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as the national party chairman and the good policies of Tinubu were among his considerations for the action.
Additionally, the ward chairman of the APC in Guyuk, Mr Linus Nathaniel, welcomed the defection of Dwana, stating that the party was fortunate to have him, given his widespread acceptance across the Guyuk and Shelleng councils.
Equally, Mr Ibrahim Suleiman, the coordinator of Engr Kubu Dwana from Shelleng, described the defection of Dwana to APC as a good decision due to the quality leadership of President Tinubu.
