Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged homosexual abuse case involving minors in Tilden Fulani, Toro local government area.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, the case was reported on January 8, 2026, by a concerned father at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Tilden Fulani.
The complainant alleged that his eight-year-old son (name withheld) was lured on several occasions with sweets and tiger nuts by a 16-year-old suspect, identified as Mohammed Saifullahi, who allegedly subjected him to sexual abuse.
Habib said that upon receiving the complaints, detectives were deployed to the area. The suspect was arrested, while the victim was taken to a medical facility for examination and care.
He added that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to engaging in the act for over three years and identified another suspect, Shuaibu Sulaiman, a 17-year-old, as the person who introduced him to the practice. The second suspect was subsequently arrested.
Police preliminary investigations (POI) further revealed that the first suspect allegedly abused four minors between the ages of seven and 10.
“Consequently, all the suspects arrested have confessed to their involvement,” the police spokesperson stated, adding that investigations were ongoing. He said the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The commissioner of police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the act and warned that the command would not tolerate any form of abuse against children.
He also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and monitor their wards’ activities and whereabouts to prevent such incidents.
