Pentecostal Fellowship Mobilises Rivers Voters For 2027 Polls

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has begun the mobilisation of registered voters in Rivers State in preparation for the 2027 general election in the country.

It said only 10 per cent of the registered voters in the state participated in the 2023 general election that brought in Governor Siminalayi Fubara and President Bola Tinubu to power.

Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday, PFN chairman in the state, Rev. Minaibi Dagogo-Jack, said, apart from mobilisation, the organisation will also intensify its prayer methodology to break some jinxes.

“We, members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, notice with great dismay the political activities in Rivers State, the unrest and all sorts of things, and indeed, we are not happy.

“It is time for the church and elders of the state to start talking and rebuking those who are supposed to be rebuked. Enough of what we are seeing in Rivers State. Politics is being played as never before.

“In 2023, INEC announced that 233,000 people voted to elect the governor and the President, while we have 3.5 million or more registered voters in the state. Where are the remaining over 90 per cent of voters?

“That is why we are out as a church to mobilise the over 90 per cent of people. Second, let me announce to you that the 233,000 votes they are bragging about also include church members. It is not proper for us to allow this to continue to happen again in Rivers State. We shall come out as a church, and we are now seriously mobilising our members.

“We want to ensure that we mobilise our people for a difference. We have three strategies; one is to intensify our prayer methodology. As I said, there are jinxes we need to break. Two, is to mobilise our people to vote for whom we tell them.

“Number three is strategies on how to curb rigging. That will not be said today. I have been in politics and I know how they used to rig; I will stop them. I promise I will stop them. When we get to the bridge, we know how to cross,” he said.
