The Federal College of Education (FCE), Iwo, Osun State, has conferred the Award of Global Impact for Digital Technologies in Education on the founder of Electronic Education Initiatives (E-DON), Dr Idon Akogun, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to digital innovation in education.

The award was presented today by the college’s director of ICT during a brief ceremony that highlighted the growing importance of technology-driven learning in teacher education. According to the ICT Directorate, Akogun’s work through the E-DON Project has played a critical role in transforming teaching and learning processes by bridging the gap between analogue and digital education systems.

At the presentation, the director of ICT described Akogun as a forward-thinking innovator whose initiatives have strengthened e-learning infrastructure, promoted digital literacy, and enhanced access to electronic educational resources across institutions.

He noted that the impact of E-DON aligns with global best practices and continues to reposition Colleges of Education for the demands of 21st Century learning.

The event also coincided with Akogun’s birthday, adding a celebratory tone to the occasion.
