President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of three ambassador-designates, out of the 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate in December.
According to a statement by Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga ,the President confirmed the posting of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, and Colonel Kayode Are (rtd) as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
Also approved was the posting of Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former ambassador to South Korea, as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.
The Presidency, in the latest statement on Friday, clarified that no ambassador has been posted to Turkey at this time, as the earlier reference to a Turkey posting of Usman Nasamu Dakingari was undergoing review following a naming mix-up.
In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu directed the Ministry to formally notify the governments of the three countries of the approved postings, in line with established diplomatic procedures
