Bauchi State Government has assured the family of the late veteran journalist, Malam Dalhat Hamid Bello, of its commitment to settle all outstanding pension payments and gratuity owed to him.
The State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, gave the assurance when she led the management staff of the ministry to commiserate with the family over the loss at his residence.
Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka said the late Malam Dalhat Hamid Bello deserved to be duly compensated by the state government, having dedicated his entire working life to the service of Bauchi State.
She described the deceased as a trustworthy and committed individual whose demise has created a great vacuum in the journalism profession and the state at large.
The Commissioner prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant the family, relatives, friends and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
Responding, the District Head of Zungur who is also an elder brother of the deceased, Alhaji Saidu Hamid Bello, expressed appreciation to the commissioner and her team for the condolence visit and the state government’s show of concern.
Also speaking, the wife of the deceased, Malama Lubabatu Muhammed, commended Bauchi State Government for the gesture and prayed Almighty Allah to reward them abundantly.
