Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated five newly completed TETFUND projects at the Umaru Sanda Ahmadu College of Education, Minna, to mark the institution’s golden jubilee celebration.

The projects included Umaru Bago CBT Centre, Malam Muhammad Awwal School of Secondary Education, Dr Jummai Zainab Umaru Sanda Alumni National Secretariat, Dr Usman Ahmed Bokani School of Education Complex and Prof. Muhammad Auna Agriculture Science Education Complex.

Bago, who was represented at the occasion by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Abubakar Usman, described the projects as laudable and acknowledged the legacy, impact and service to education that the Institution had made in Niger State and Nigeria.

He said the college has remained a beacon of teacher education, character formation and academic discipline, producing graduates who continue to shape classrooms and communities across the country.

The governor reiterated that under the New Niger Agenda, education and human capital development remained top priorities, adding that the administration would continue to invest in tertiary education through institutions such as Abdulkadir Kure University and the University of Climate Change, Mokwa, and would sustain its support for Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The college provost, Dr Mohammed Baba, described the event as a celebration of a milestone in academic excellence and appreciated the governor’s foresight and initiative in revamping the education sector and developing a robust teacher education policy.
