The Emir of Machina, Alhaji Dr. Bashir Machinama, has commended Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for his sustained commitment to youth development, cultural preservation, and inclusive development across the state.
The Emir gave the commendation during the grand finale of the Machina Annual Cultural Festival (MACUF) 2026 held in Machina town, Machina Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Alhaji Dr. Bashir Machinama thanked Governor Buni for honouring the closing ceremony with his presence, describing it as a demonstration of the administration’s respect for traditional institutions and cultural heritage.
He praised the Governor’s policies and interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development, noting that Machina and other parts of Yobe State have continued to benefit from people-oriented projects.
Earlier, Governor Buni had charged youths across the state to shun drug abuse and other social vices, urging them to embrace discipline, hard work, and positive values as the bedrock of a meaningful and productive life.
He emphasized that the future of Yobe State largely depends on the character and commitment of its youthful population.
The Governor encouraged young people to take advantage of various government empowerment, skills acquisition, and self-reliance programmes aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
He also commended the Machina Emirates Council for successfully organizing MACUF 2026, describing the festival as a vital platform for promoting unity, moral values, and peaceful coexistence.
Governor Buni further appreciated the participation of Emirs and traditional rulers from within and outside the state, noting that their presence underscored the cultural and social significance of the festival.
