The Nigerian government through the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has launched the Export for Survival Campaign programme.

The government said the move is to urgently and extensively unlock the full potential of the country’s non-oil export economy.

Minister of industry, trade and investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, who launched the programme yesterday in Abuja, said it carries an urgency that perfectly frames the challenges the country will increasingly face if it did not accelerate the diversification of the Nigerian economy.

According to Adebayo, the Campaign is indeed strategic in finding a solution to the country’s fragile economy as it will expand the productive base of the economy, generate employment , and reduce the alarming statistics on poverty.

“The Export4Survival campaign should therefore be embraced by stakeholders, the Business Community, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Trade Associations, the Organised Private Sector (OPS) etc, as a brand that that will be a game changer in the socio-economic space of our national development.

“As part of efforts at creating awareness on non-oil export development and promotion activities of the Council, there is no gainsaying the fact that with the Export4Survival campaign, significant mileage would be gained in the volume and value of exported Nigerian products and services,” he added.
