A group, Inter-Religious Youth Affairs for Peace and Unity, has awarded peace ambassadors to deserving people for promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse communities in Kaduna State.
At the presentation of a peace award to the execute director, Henas International School, Dr Philip Terfa Iorhena, in Kaduna, the group’s coordinator, Muhammed Taofeeq, said the organisation was committed to fostering harmony, understanding and cooperation among Nigeria’s diverse youth.
He also averred that the organisation was established with the vision of promoting dialogue and building lasting peace in communities across the country.
Taofeeq said Iorhena was chosen among peace ambassadors due to his efforts and commitment in peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
“Your unwavering dedication to advancing peace and stability in Nigeria is truly laudable. Your commitment to nurturing harmony and understanding among communities and religious groups is profoundly inspiring,” he stated.
Responding after accepting the award, Dr Philip Terfa Iorhena, assured that he would continue to promote peace, urging all Nigerians to team up to bring lasting peace as the country is facing security challenges.
Also speaking, a Kaduna based legal practitioner, Abuul Hiifan, while urging the government to urgently address insecurity said all Nigerians must join hands to tackle the menace.
