Newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, on Thursday warned that he would not tolerate any form of corruption, high-handedness, or professional misconduct by operatives of the command.

Bosso gave the warning during his formal assumption of office as the 42nd Police boss for Imo State on Thursday at the State Police headquarters, Owerri.

According to him, under his watch, there will be no room for any form of misconduct, and he charged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Already, he has charged all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders to serve as the vanguard of justice and a beacon of hope to the people of Imo State.

Bosso said, “The safety and security of Imolites remain my foremost priority. I call on security agencies, stakeholders, and all Imolites to work together in tackling crime and social vices. My administration will be guided by community-based policing, intelligence-led operations, and a people-friendly approach, ensuring that all actions strictly adhere to the rule of law and respect human rights.

“I have tasked all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders to serve as the vanguard of justice and a beacon of hope to the people of Imo State. They must work diligently to maintain peace and security across the state, foster public trust, and ensure that policing remains professional, accountable, and responsive to citizens’ needs.

“I also want to make it clear that this administration will not tolerate corruption, high-handedness, incivility to the public, or any form of professional misconduct. Officers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability”, he said.
