The United Youth Nigeria Movement has urged its members to avoid violent protests that can result in the destruction of life and property in the country.
In a statement released in Abuja yesterday by the Executive Committee of the United Youth Nigeria Movement, Dr Ibrahim Salihu emphasised that the admonition was a reminder for members to abstain from participating in any protests against the government.
Salihu said, “We recognise that it is natural to have concerns; however, we must prioritise discipline and respect for the rule of law. Protesting can lead to unintended consequences, including disruptions to daily life and economic activities.”
He said the potential for violence and harm to individuals, damage to property and infrastructure, and the negative impact on both “your future and the nation’s progress is significant.
“As the leaders of tomorrow, we must concentrate on constructive engagement and peaceful dialogue to address our concerns. Let us collaborate to create a better Nigeria through responsible citizenship and adherence to our laws.
“Stay focused, remain disciplined and let us advance our united Nigeria together,” Salihu said.
