A women’s empowerment advocate, popularly known as VicAlu, has unveiled plans for a Guinness World Record through a marathon livestream aimed at amplifying women’s voices and addressing gender-related challenges in Nigeria.
The record attempt, themed “The Woman: Her Voice, Her Power,” is scheduled to take place on March 2 at Tigris Studio and will be streamed globally via YouTube.
VicAlu said the initiative goes beyond setting a global record, describing it as a platform designed to stimulate conversations around women’s leadership, mentorship and societal inclusion.
“This is not just about breaking a record; it is about breaking barriers. Every woman’s voice matters. Every story carries power,” she said.
She explained that the marathon broadcast would feature structured conversations, expert contributions and personal storytelling sessions, in line with the global record body’s guidelines.
The empowerment advocate noted that the programme is also expected to mobilise stakeholders across sectors to strengthen advocacy for gender equity and women’s development.
According to her, the initiative is being driven through her empowerment platform, which focuses on mentorship and leadership support for women across the country.
Observers say the planned record attempt is coming at a time when advocacy groups continue to push for stronger representation of women in leadership, governance, and socio-economic development in Nigeria.
The event is expected to draw participation from professionals, gender advocates, and members of the public, with organisers expressing optimism that the platform would inspire women to share experiences and drive social change.
