Megan Markle, Prince Harry Pay A Surprise Visit To Jordan

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan and Harry, have commenced their official two-day humanitarian trip to Jordan in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to support frontline partners, including World Central Kitchen and Questscope.

The royal offices made this announcement on Wednesday, February 25. Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, who stepped down as working royals in 2020, are taking this unexpected trip at the warm invitation of the WHO director general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

For the visit, Meghan was spotted in stylish white trousers, a tailored jacket and a casual top in the same colours, while Harry wore beige trousers, a white shirt and a black jacket.

Media reports state that the royal family are aware of the Sussexes’ trip, as the visit comes amid disturbances faced by the royal family following last week’s arrest of Prince Harry’s uncle, the former Prince Andrew, on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The first engagement by Meghan and Harry was a WHO roundtable in Amman, Jordan’s capital, hosted by Dr Ghebreyesus and other regional WHO leaders, bringing together primary donors and humanitarian partners to discuss health responses and assistance for communities affected by conflict and displacement.

They were also joined at the function by UN agencies such as UNRWA, UNHCR, the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and diplomatic attendees from countries such as the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Canada, and the EU. British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, thanked the Sussexes for attending.

“Your visit, your support, your appreciation of the efforts that the United Nations, including, of course, the World Health Organisation, the government of Jordan and others, are making here is enormously appreciated,” he said.
