Sunmbo Adeoye, wife of Pastor David Adeoye, has opened up about her previous relationship with music icon 2Baba and the personal journey that has shaped her present outlook on life.

Speaking in an interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown on her talk show, Adeoye said she deliberately chose not to let her past define her future.
According to her, that season of her life brought painful lessons but also clarity and growth.
“That season taught me that God has a plan for everyone, but I chose not to equate a bad decision with a bad life,” she said.

Adeoye explained that she learned to view her experiences through the lens of purpose, noting that pain becomes meaningful when properly understood.
“When you understand purpose, your pain will have a meaning,” she stated.

She also addressed public assumptions surrounding her marriage, dismissing claims that her husband stepped in to “rescue” her.
“My husband was not on a rescue mission, and I wasn’t trying to prove a point. My husband was my divine compensation, orchestrated by God. It is the grace of God that allows it to outlast the gossip,” she added.
