Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ and Norwegian film ‘Sentimental Value’ are leading winners at the first-ever Oscars ‘casting category’ – at the Artios Award.
‘Sinners’ Francis Maisler took home the Artios in the Big-budget Feature Drama for her work on ‘Sinners’, beating out fellow Oscar nominees ‘Marty Supreme’s Jennifer Venditti, and ‘Hamnet’s Nina Gold. Maisler also won in the TV casting category alongside Melissa Kostenbauder for her work in Apple TV+’s The Studio in the First Season Comedy Category.
Sentimental Value’s Avy Kaufman won the Studio/Independent Drama Category after a narrow miss at the Academy.
Comedy film ‘Jay Kelly’ won the Big-Budget Feature Comedy, which Nina Gold and Douglas Aibel cast. The Brendan Fraser-led, Japan-set ‘Rental Family’ took the Studio/Independent Comedy cast by Kei Kawamura. ‘Zootopia II’ won the Animation feature casting, ‘The Fisherman’ triumphed in the International Feature casting category, while ‘Sorry Baby’ won in the Low Budget field casting category.
