Amid the gale of defections and litigations rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the party’s former deputy national chairman, Chief Olabode George, yesterday assured members of the party and Nigerians that the party would bounce back stronger and better.
He charged its members not to be deterred by the challenges facing it now whereby some elected public office holders in the party were decamping into the ruling party APC.
Speaking at the inauguration of the party’s executives for local government and Lagos State led by Dr. Amos Fawole held at the party secretariat in Ikeja Lagos, George assured the party faithful that irrespective of the challenges the party was facing, it can never go under because it was built on a strong structure.
He described it as an Iroko tree that can’t just be pushed down. Some elected public office holders elected on the platform have dumped the party for the APC, citing internal crisis within the party for their action.
Chief George said,’’ Since our Ibadan national convention in November 2025, is a rebirth, a new hope, a new beginning, a restoration of the confidence Nigerians had in PDP when it was founded by our fathers in 1998.’’
Chief George said he among others did the leg work for the party to flourish.
