Justice Hussaini Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory High Court has transmitted the case file of the fundamental human rights action instituted by former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to the chief judge of the FCT.

Media Adviser to the former governor, Muyiwa Adekeye, in a statement yesterday said the court had on Wednesday adjourned the case to hear the bail application for El-Rufai.

The statement said the case sought the enforcement of El-Rufai’s rights against the ICPC, EFCC, DSS and attorney-general of the federation.

Muyiwa further stated that the judge said he was proceeding on leave, hence his decision to hand back the case for reassignment.

“Malam Nasir El-Rufai has been detained since he voluntarily reported at the EFCC on Monday, 16th February 2026. He was moved to the custody of the ICPC on the night of 18 February” the statement said.
