Academy Award-winning actor Ian McKellen and Emmy Award-winning Michaela Coel are fascinating to watch in the art-world-focused film ‘The Christophers’.
McKellen plays Julian Sklar, once a star of London’s 1960s and 1970s Pop Art world, but he hasn’t painted in decades and has been broke for years. His two estranged children, Barnaby and Sally, played by James Corden and Jessica Gunning) desperate for an inheritance, hire Lori (Michaela Coel) to pose as a prospective assistant to access 8 unfinished canvases Julian has buried deep in storage. She plans to complete them, then return them to storage, where they are to be discovered upon Julian’s death.
‘The Christophers’ is written by Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh and writer Ed Solomon. It will be released in theatres on April 10, 2026.
