Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has submitted names of nine commissioner-nominees to the House of Assembly for screening as members of the State Executive Council.
The commissioner-nominees are: Professor Datonye Alasia, Mr. Tonye Bell-Gam, Professor Temple Nwofor and Dr. Peter Nwagor.
Others are: Mrs. Charity Demua, Tamuno Williams, Esq, Mr. Lekue Kenneth, Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
LEADERSHIP observed that none of the former commissioners and members of the State Executive Council made the current list of nominees.
Clerk of the House, Dr. Emeka Amadi, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, urged the nominees to submit 40 sets of their curriculum vitae (CV), photocopies of their credentials and evidence of compliance with tax obligations to the office of the clerk.
The statement, which however, did not disclosed the date for the screening of the nominees, did not also disclosed this date for the screening of the nominees.
It reads in part,”The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites nominees for appointment as commissioners and members of the Rivers State Executive Council to submit 40 sets of their curriculum vitae (CV), photocopies of their credentials and evidence of compliance with tax obligations.
“All documents should be forwarded to the office of the Clerk of the House at the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters.”
On February 12, 2026 dissolved the state executive council and on February 27, 2026, appointed Dr Dagogo Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff.
