The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for conducting a peaceful, rancor-free, and inclusive state congress.
Addressing delegates at the conclusion of the state congresses held yesterday at the IBB Square, Makurdi, Governor Alia praised the efforts of all stakeholders, including the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Sam Egwu, who monitored the congress, and the National Working Committee (NWC) election congress committee chaired by Dr. Auwal Ishiye.
The Governor said he was pleased to see the APC in Benue State coming together in a spirit of unity and cooperation, stating that the congress was a testament to the party’s commitment to democracy and its dedication to the people of Benue State and charged the new state Exco work only for the good of the party.
Governor Alia reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he called on all well-meaning party faithful to stand by the president. He assured President Tinubu of his unwavering support and commitment to the APC and its ideals.
He said it is his firm belief that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will deliver on his promises to Nigerians and, as such, deserves a second term to bring some of his policies to fruition.
Stakeholders at the event, including Chief Engr. BAI Gemade, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, Sen. Ameh Ebute, Gen. India Garba, Chief Steven Lawani, Chief Emmanuel Jime, and a host of others, expressed their gratitude for Governor Alia’s leadership and vision for the party in Benue State and promised to join hands with him to deliver the dividends of democracy for the good people of Benue State.
