The police in Bauchi State have arrested Bala Mato, a 48-year-old resident of Burra, Ningi local government area and Kamaludeen Aliyu, a 24-year-old security guard, based at Tsohon Company, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis, in connection with alleged sodomy and rape, involving a teenager and two minors, respectively.

Mato allegedly lured the victim to his room, where he had unnatural sexual intercourse with him.

Another resident of Burra, Danalami Umar, 45, reported the incident to the police at the Burra Divisional headquarters on 25th February, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Confirming the incident yesterday morning, the spokesperson of police command, SP Nafi’u Habib, said the victim had been taken to Burra General Hospital for medical examination.

Also, Mr Aliyu, who works with Al-Ansar Security Limited, allegedly on 23rd February lured two minors aged four years and five years respectively into a security room at Tsohon Company, where he, at different times, had carnal knowledge of them.

Both the victims and the suspect were taken to the police clinic for medical examination.

SP Habib said the commissioner of police directed the DPO to transfer the case to the Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) Unit for thorough investigation.
