Kogi Govt Unveils Service Charter To Boost Transparency In MDAs

Kogi State government has unveiled a Service Charter for selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and efficiency in public service delivery.

The charter outlines clear service standards, timelines and expectations for citizens seeking services from government agencies, while also providing a framework through which the public can hold MDAs accountable.

The initiative was developed through a collaborative effort between the state government and non-state actors, including the Initiative for Grassroot Advancement in Nigeria (INGRA).

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Lokoja, the executive director of INGRA, Hamza Aliyu, commended Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo, for supporting reforms under the Open Government Partnership aimed at promoting transparency and citizen participation in governance.

Also, the co-chairman of the Kogi State Open Government Partnership, Idris Muraina Ozovehe, described the Service Charter as a “public pledge” by government institutions to deliver quality and efficient services to the people.
