Rotimi Salami Urges Fans To Support Latest Movie After Poor Sales At Cinema

Yoruba actor Rotimi Salami has lamented over poor movie sales at the cinema. He has pleaded with fans to watch the movie ‘Kilanko: The Invisible Child’, so it can remain in cinemas.

The actor took to his Instagram page and shared a video of himself receiving prayers from a colleague, Yetunde Wunmi, while disclosing that he did not make enough sales for his movie, Kilanko at the Cinema.

Salami gave this as the reason why he was quiet on social media on Monday, stating that the movie may be removed from the platform if it doesn’t do well this week.

“I am making this post with a heavy heart. KILANKO SALES AT THE CINEMAS LAST WEEKEND WEREN’T GOOD. That’s why I couldn’t post throughout yesterday.

“Still, I say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who came out at different times for the meet-and-greet, and likewise to everyone who came out to watch, but the numbers are pretty small.

“If KILANKO doesn’t make the expected figure by this weekend. It might be kicked out of the cinemas even before Ramadan is over.”

He pleads with the public to support the movie in reaching a sustainable level, urging that it is “surely a beautiful movie that everyone must see.”

“Thank you, mama @yetunde_wunmi_ for the prayers”, he said.

Kilanko is a movie that explores themes of the Abiku child, sickle cell disease, and the sacrifices of motherhood.
