Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, has expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending the administration for its efforts in managing the country’s affairs across various sectors.

Gowon made the remarks on Saturday after visiting the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

“I came to see him and to thank him for all the good work that he is doing for the country. We looked at the progress Nigeria is making economically and otherwise. He is doing the best he can all around, politically, economically, and socially,” Gowon said.

The former Head of State also addressed the country’s persistent security challenges, noting that the government is making efforts to tackle the situation in the interest of Nigerians.

“Regarding the major problem we have today, which is security, he is doing everything to deal with those issues. He has to look after the interests of Nigeria in all areas,” he said.
