The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced the rescheduling of key fixtures to accommodate the forthcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
In a statement signed by Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana, the league confirmed that Matchday 13 and Matchday 15 fixtures have been postponed to allow players, officials and stakeholders to observe the end of Ramadan.
The affected matches will now take place during the midweek of 25 March 2026.
Eid al-Fitr, also known as the Salah festival, marks the conclusion of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and is a significant period of prayer, celebration and family gatherings for Muslims worldwide. This year’s observance is expected to fall between 20 and 21 March.
The NNL said the decision was taken to ensure that clubs are not required to travel or play matches during the religious holiday, thereby allowing participants to fully observe the occasion.
The move highlights the league’s commitment to respecting the cultural and religious diversity of its stakeholders.
Clubs and supporters have been advised to take note of the revised schedule as the league campaign continues towards the promotion play-offs.
