The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has convened a three-day leadership retreat to strengthen internal coordination and advance its mandate to achieve food sovereignty in Nigeria.

The retreat, held in Lagos, brought together directors and heads of departments under the theme, “Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution: Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision to Abundance Creating Strategic Alignment to Drive Results and Scale Impact).”

The session focused on aligning leadership priorities with ongoing projects and sharpening the authority’s strategic direction.

In his keynote address, the executive secretary of NALDA, Cornelius Adebayo, said the retreat was designed to harmonise institutional goals with national development objectives.

He outlined the need to articulate clear short-, medium- and long-term strategies to reposition the authority for greater impact in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

He said, “This retreat is to foster the culture of excellence in the execution of NALDA’s mandate. With shared commitment and collective ownership of our strategic goals, NALDA will not only transform the trajectory of Nigeria’s agricultural sector but also play a pivotal role in moving millions of Nigerians from poverty to prosperity in the near future.”

Adebayo urged participants to embrace continuous learning and innovation while strengthening inter-departmental collaboration to improve service delivery. He emphasised that effective coordination across units would be critical to delivering measurable outcomes.
