The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four siblings in connection with an alleged culpable homicide in Jama’are local government area of the state.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the incident was reported on March 15, 2026, when local hunters alerted the Jama’are Divisional Police Headquarters of an attack on three private security guards at a farm belonging to Idris Waziri Kwamawa.
He added that following the report, the Divisional Police Officer led a patrol team to the scene, where they discovered one of the guards, Bello Bura, 40 years old, dead, while two others Sani Hussaini, 32 years old, and Gidado Mohammed, 32 years old, both from Jadau village in Gamawa local government area sustained injuries.
Nafiu added that the injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital for treatment, where a medical doctor confirmed Bello Bura dead. His remains have since been released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
The police initially detained six suspects, but four siblings have been retained in custody for alleged culpable homicide. They are identified as Chidawa Ahmadu, 25; Adamu Ahmadu, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 15; and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22, all from Bediri village in Jama’are local government area.
Items recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight.
The Command said investigation is ongoing, while the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
