Governor Bala Mohammed has said the creation of new emirates and chiefdoms in Bauchi State is not intended to reduce the powers of the Emir, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu and other first-class emirs in the state.

Rather, the governor said, it is a deliberate policy of the state government to take governance to the grassroots and ensure inclusive governance.

Speaking during a Sallah homage at the Government House as part of activities to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the governor also said the policy would ensure self-actualisation in the various communities.

“What the state government is doing is to take cues from the forefathers. It is also to chart a new course for traditional institutions and uphold its regalia,” the governor said.

“During our tenure, we accorded utmost priority to education and health sectors, road construction, beautification of emirs’ and district heads’ palaces, renovation of MDAs structures, state and local government secretariats,” he added.

The emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu commended the governor for his administration’s drive in agricultural revolution to generate employment, boost the economy and ensure food security in the state and the country at large.

He appealed to the people to apply the lessons of the Ramadan fast to save society.
