The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of one of its members and former acting national secretary, Prince Charles Akitoye, describing him as an exceptional statesman who contributed to the growth, stability, and unity of PDP.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, the BoT
while expressing its condolences to the Atitoye’s family said, “We received the news of his passing with profound sadness and a heavy heart.
“Dr. Akitoye was an exceptional statesman, a committed party man, and a distinguished leader who served diligently as the former National Secretary and a statutory member of the Board of Trustees. His immense contributions to the growth, stability, and unity of the Peoples Democratic Party remain indelible and will continue to inspire generations to come.
“Throughout his years of service, he exemplified dedication, integrity, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the Party. His wisdom, experience, and selfless commitment to nation building and party development earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and associates alike.
“At this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the family, friends and loved ones and pray that the Almighty grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May they find comfort in the remarkable legacy he leaves behind and in the enduring impact of his life and service,” the statement read in part.
