Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday blocked access to the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in a development that has drawn attention from residents and passersby.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the EFCC operatives arrived at the scene in about five buses, swiftly taking control of Koranakh Close, located off Amazon Street in Abuja. The operation effectively sealed off the neighbourhood, restricting movement in and out of the area.

Residents described a heavy security presence, noting that both residents and visitors were prevented from accessing the street as the anti-graft agency enforced the blockade.

“The operatives came early in multiple buses and immediately took over the entire street,” one eyewitness said. “No one was allowed in or out. It was heavily secured.”

Another resident added, “They blocked access completely. Even those who live within the area were stopped from entering.”
