A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has ordered the arrest of a factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki, over his failure to appear before the court.
Justice U.P. Kekemeke gave the order after Turaki failed to honour a court summons in a case instituted against him by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The court held that the defendant had no valid justification for his absence.
The IGP had filed a one-count charge against Turaki, accusing him of providing false information to the police in a petition dated October 2022.
The matter is part of ongoing legal disputes surrounding internal leadership tussles within the PDP.
