Wizkid, Ayra Starr Shine At 2026 Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr were the big winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards held yesterday in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Wizkid took home the award for Best African Music Act. He won the category against other top Nigerian stars like Davido, Rema, and Tiwa Savage.

Ayra Starr also had a big night, winning the Best International Act award. She beat global superstars including Cardi B and Gunna to claim the prize.

Popular British-Nigerian media personality Niko Omilana also emerged as a winner, taking home the Best Media Personality award.

The 2026 event was the first time the MOBO Awards were held in Manchester. The ceremony celebrated Black music and culture, honouring several talented artists from around the world.

Other Nigerians recognised at the event included producer P2J, who won Best Producer, and the group DC3, who won both Best Newcomer and Best Gospel Act.
