Noni Madueke has declared his determination to earn a place in England national football team’s World Cup squad, insisting he is ready to fight for his position ahead of the tournament.
The Arsenal winger, 24, has already been included in a provisional 35-man squad and is keen to impress head coach Thomas Tuchel during upcoming international friendlies against Japan and Uruguay.
Madueke remains focused on seizing his opportunity, despite recent disappointment at club level, stressing the importance of resilience and consistency at the highest level.
“My focus now is on England. Of course, setbacks are part of the game, but you can’t dwell on them—you have to move forward,” he said.
The forward emphasised that his priority is to contribute whenever called upon, rather than becoming consumed by selection debates.
“When you play at this level, for both club and country, your mindset has to be about competing, doing your best and helping the team win,” he added.
While acknowledging that the prospect of World Cup selection inevitably crosses a player’s mind, Madueke insists his approach remains simple—perform on the pitch and let the rest take care of itself.
“It’s an incredible honour to represent your country at a World Cup. Of course you think about it, but I just focus on giving my best every time I play, and everything will fall into place as it should.”
With crucial international fixtures on the horizon, Madueke now has a timely platform to stake his claim for a coveted spot on football’s biggest stage.
