Belgium star Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed that he won’t retire from the national team after 2026 World Cup.

The 34-year-old Napoli playmaker, returning from a serious hamstring injury, expressed his desire to play until at least Euro 2028.

Speaking in a press conference, the former Man City midfielder aims to remain a key part of the national team setup under the current management.

“I’m getting into a better rhythm, I’ve already played more than I thought I would. I’ve been training with the team for four weeks and I feel good.

“I don’t think I’ll play two full nineties on this on this tour, but that’s not necessary. I don’t plan on leaving the national team after the World Cup: as long as I feel good, I’ll keep going.”
