Zamfara State Universal Education Board (ZSUBEB) and other stakeholders have resolved to ensure the sustainability of school feeding initiatives as the board celebrated the African Day of School Feeding.

This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the ZSUBEB public relations officer, Ibrahim Musa Maizare.

He said, “Finpact Development Foundation (FINDEF), with the support of Solidarités International and in collaboration with the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), commemorated the African Day of School Feeding, held at the ZSUBEB Conference Hall in Gusau, Zamfara State.

“The event brought together key stakeholders in the education and nutrition sectors to highlight the importance of school feeding programmes in improving child health, enhancing school enrolment, and boosting academic performance across the state.

“In his welcome address, the programme manager of FINDEF, Mr Elisha Magaji, emphasised the critical role of partnerships in sustaining effective school feeding initiatives. He commended the Zamfara State Government and ZSUBEB for their continued commitment to improving the welfare of school children and strengthening access to quality education.

“The event featured a series of sessions, including an overview of the African Day of School Feeding, the background of school feeding programmes, and discussions on the core challenges affecting implementation.
