The Chosen Season 6 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video internationally and in the US on November 15, 2026.
Prime Video and 5&2 Studio made this known on Good Friday, April 3.
The season spans six episodes and a finale episode, which will screen in the spring of 2027.
Episodes 1-3 will debut simultaneously on November 15, whilst episodes four, five, and six will be released weekly on November 22, 29, and December 6, 2026; while the final episode, which the show’s creator Dallas Jenkins described as “a supersized episode,” will be released as a theatrical global event all over the world.
The Chosen Season 6 will depict the final 24 hours of Jesus Christ’s life, known as Good Friday. It spans Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion, along with the confusion his disciples experience at the time, which leads them to disperse.
Speaking of the nature and the importance of the season, Jenkins said, “Everyone knows the basics of this part of the story, but not everyone knows the ‘why’ of the crucifixion and the extraordinary events of these 24 hours,” said Jenkins.
“We realised this not only deserved a season of television but a standalone full-length theatrical event as well. We wrote and filmed all of it with this in mind.”
He continued, “Season 6 is the biggest season we’ve ever done, without a close second; it’s taking the longest to film by far. The visual effects, the translations, especially, take at least two to three times longer than any season we’ve ever done. And so, it can just take time. I just ask for your continued grace and patience. It will be worth it.”
